  The hotel is modern and bright. Friendly young staff welcome you in the foyer - there's no formal reception desk with a clerk behind it. Reservations are checked on mobile phones. There was a problem in our room with the toilet flusher which we reported. It was fixed by the time we returned after our night out. That's all a guest can ask. The bed was comfortable and ear plugs provided in case the noise from the street was too much - we didn't need them, but it was a thoughtful touch. Rooms a smallish, basic but clean. The hotel is handy for central Manchester attractions, near to Piccadilly Gardens tram and bus interchange.

  Nice and comfortable bed. The carpet and behind the toilet area could've been cleaner. Breakfast average- for whoever prefers the English breakfast; the continental version was better. Recurrent problems with the key/door but always somebody there to sorted out. Staff very helpful and polite. Overall, I would return.

  Quick and pleasant check-in, clean simple rooms, comfy bed and good quiet sleep. Tried to get the included breakfast in the morning, but here technology lets the experience down - need to pass through the gateway of one person trying to verify guest details on a mobile phone - a good old fashioned printed list would be so much quicker. Got stuck behind a 5 minute discussion and verification when I was hoping to grab a coffee and a bite and be out in 5 minutes, as had a tram to catch. Decided to check out while waiting, which involved moving a meter or two away to the reception desk, but when I'd done that the previous breakfast 'check-in' finally finished and the one person who could grant me access to breakfast headed away into the kitchen. Gave up and got pret on the way to work. Wouldn't stop me staying here again, but it would stop me from going for breakfast included rate.

  Check in was friendly, casual (in a good way) and efficient. The young lady who checked us in was especially friendly and helpful. The online check in and checkout via text is a very good idea. The hotel was clean and modern with a nice, but not overpowering decor. The room was tiny especially with the third bed squeezed in, but perfectly fine for a short stay. The location was excellent with all we needed (including discounted parking) within easy reach. The bed was very comfortable, with just the right firmness for me. My concerns were minor. The kettle was welcome, though I would have preferred more coffee, sugar and milk (the artificial sweetener was nasty), and it was quite hard to squeeze it under the tap for filling. The shower was excellent, thought a bit big for such a small room. I don't mind glass shower doors (though with kids you need to be careful), but the left hand door hit the toilet too easily and I was concerned that it might accidentally shatter. There was an aircon/heater in the room above the door, but it would not respond to the switches (I wanted to cool the room a little) until the following morning. Overall though, I was delighted and would happily recommend this particular hotel again.
